Movement for Pre-schoolers
(age 3 turning 4 years)
Movement to music incorporating ballet and jazz moves using our imaginations and having fun with props.
Ballet Classes for Children
(from 5 years)
Teaching children ballet through the Cecchetti syllabus well known around the world for developing well rounded dancers.
Prepares children for exams (optional). Develops co-ordination, poise, confidence, rhythmical sense and musicality while ensuring the process is still fun.
Jazz Dance for Children
(from 5 years)
Teaching children jazz through the Jazz Dance NZ syllabus. Prepares children for exams (optional). Develops posture, muscle tone, listening skills, rhythm and enjoyment of jazz dance.
Dance Classes for Adults
Adult Open Ballet Class
For adults who have had training in classical ballet to a senior level and want to continue for exercise and enjoyment.
Adult Beginners Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Contemporary
For those adults who have always wanted to learn ballet, jazz, tap or contemporary or have learnt some dance as a child. Excellent exercise in a fun way.
Other Dance Classes
Muscial Theatre Classes
This class is taken by Emma Donaldson who has studied in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Cabaret, Soft Shoe, Rock'n'Roll and Singing. Emma has also worked professionally as a dancer in Australia, Taiwan, India and New Zealand and choreographed musicals throughout Otago and Southland. These classes are available to students aged 8 years and above. In the class you will be learning genres relating to musical theatre.
Contemporary Dance Classes
This class will be taken by renowned dancer and choreographer, Kilda Northcott (founding member of Limbs). For students aged from 11 years upwards.

Ballet Extension
This class is for students who would like to go further in their dance career and to learn more about the art of ballet. The class will be open to those students who have just sat Grade 6 level or above.
In the class the students will be working further on technique, artistry, flexibility, strengthening exercises and repertoire.
Tap Dance Classes
Students will learn the foundations of tap dancing including beats, rhythm, steps and sequences. Tap is great for improving musicality and understanding of counts, balance, presentation and extends the student’s repertoire of dance styles. In this class students will work on exercises and will be able sit medal tests.
